When I go to the admin page, it gives me the errors:

looks like bad admin/includes/configure.

AND..... while you're contemplating that, you might want to look at Image Handler to handle those images total of about 2M for the main page

The code in the .htaccess file is pretty standard Apache security stuff, so as it's not working properly on your site, it must be conflicting with or incompatible with your web hosts server setup.

You may need to alter it for compatibility or even not need it at all if your webhost has other measures in place to stop people reading your directories.
