But I still have the issue when there is one product per catagory it looks like this:
http://www.actorxfactor.co.uk/index....products_id=24

which is great

but when there are two or more products in a category it looks like this:
http://www.actorxfactor.co.uk/index....=index&cPath=8

Which isn't.

is there a way to list muliple products like the first example

No. When there is only one product in a category, it goes directly to that one product. There is a setting to change that in the admin, so that the one product shows like it does when there is more than one product, but there isn't a way to do it the other way around.
