Who's Online shows everyone on page_not_found

Hi all,

Since a few days ago the Who's Online page in my admin has been showing everyone on the page_not_found page, although it cannot be true because my friend and I were both on some product info pages at the time.

I can only remember adding a couple of pages (namely, popup_image, popup_image_additional, popup_search_help and product_reviews_write) to the ROBOTS_PAGES_TO_SKIP section in my meta_tags.php file before this happened. But it could also be something else that I don't remember.

Where should I look to see what caused this problem?

Why not try undoing those changes and see whether that helps? (ie: put back the original line)

But it could also be something else that I don't remember.

If you've not kept a list of things you've changed, or haven't been taking regular backups between changes, then you may have to figure it out with a comparison tool, using a process similar to this one:

Hmmm something strange is going on here...

This problem seems to be happening with Safari only...

1. When I'm using Safari and I have one tab on the who's online page and one tab on any shop page, the who's online list shows that I'm on page_not_found.

2. Still using Safari, I open a new tab and browse to any shop page, the who's online list shows that I'm on the correct shop page. But if I refresh the list, it would now say that I'm on the page_not_found page, although the new tab is still on the same shop page.

3. Using Firefox, everything works fine.

4. I tried undoing the changes I did in the meta_tag.php file and did not solve the problem.

5. I now remember another change that I did before this happened. I used to set all 404s to return to the index page. And a few days ago I set all 404s to go to the page_not_found page.

I'll keep trying to figure it out and report back.

Haven't solved my problem yet, and it looks like the problem happens to visitors using IE too...

(Which means that my Who's Online List only works for Firefox visitors or bots...)

I am using v1.3.7

I have been trying to resolve this issue since the end of July, when I launched my site, but without success; my observations are:

IE
All hits recorded as page_not_found.

FIREFOX AND OPERA
All pages which include a product listing (all my subcategories and one listing under a main category page) are recorded as page_not_found.

The remaining main category pages, the products pages and all the 24 "defined" pages are recorded correctly.

I see that the last posting on this subject was about a month ago. Does anyone have a solution or a pointer?
