Default protx, what do i need.

Right i have my site up and running with over 400 product on now and still growing.

now i need to be able to take money. looked at paypal but they tke a big percentage which is ok if selling small items but all my items are in the £500 plus so its a big loss.

looked into going with ortx and just need to know what i need, how it works, what steps do i take to set it up etc.

so far i have the following.

    my business
    my site
    streamline internet account

    what else do i need?

at the moment my site dont have ssl as fasthost are ghay but ill be moving the site over to camalot thats if the protx is compatable with there servers.

i have started the set up account with protx and was informed they would send me and email with detail, 2 weeks on and 3 emails to them i have still not recieved the email. so im now at a loss.

Any help and advise on the best way to take payments throught my site, my deadline i set to get my site set up is just getting pushed back and back, over 6 months in the making and loads of money spent and getting no where.

ive not got a protx account, think i ticked all the correct boxes, they are setting up the rest and we will be getting a test server.

gone for the protx direct where our site redirects to portx for payment.

I use the Protx direct system too

You will need to have a look on here and find the protx direct module by conor. if you dont want 3d secure and no maestro you can use the free version of the mod but if you want the whole 9 yards you will have to get the full version 3 mod at £50 ish.

its really easy to setup so you should be ok with it but conor gives great support + Ill be happy to assist where possible.

Just dont forget you will need a SSL cert if you havent got one yet. and you will need to ensure you either have or can install pear blowfish on the server.

    Hi all,

ive had a web site running for about a year now using zencart and taking payments via protx.

Ive now been informed that we have to have 3D secure on our account befre the 1st of August.

This has been switched on in our VSP admin for about amonth now (we use cardnet),but i recieved an email form a developer the other day stating that our zencart shop would need some modification to allow this.

Does anyone have any info on this,ie is that true and how do we go about it.

    kind regards

    chris

you will have to do a search on here for the protx direct module by conor (that is if you use the direct method)

it is fully 3d compliant and works a dream. to use the full version though you will have to buy it. its a bargin though

There is no difference between a "Protx Form" account and a "Protx Direct" account - if you have one you have the other. Protx only ask you which you want to use as a courtesy as far as I can tell. Once you have a vendor name and a live account you can use either service.

We highly recommend using the Direct module over the Form module as it keeps customers on your site and therefore looks a lot more professional.

You do have to have a SSL certificate when making use of the direct module though. However, these are very cheap these days (as little as $15 a year).

    All the best...

To support 3D-Secure you have to get the latest version of either the Protx Direct or Protx Form module... you can purchase either one on our website:

    http://dev.ceon.net/web/zen-cart

It will then be a matter of uninstalling your old version of the module and installing the new version. It's easily done and full instructions are provided on the website and along with the purchased downloads themselves.

If you require any help please feel free to contact us using the contact form on our website.

    All the best...

    Conor

    thanks conor

will be moving over to camalot this week and will have our own ssl cert with this, will then get the modual get it installed and start making money.

already have loads of customers finding our site even though its not advertisied or told google about it yet and all wanting to make orders, so we just getting them to call us and just doing telephone orders thought the shop as normal at the moment, need to be up and running as soon as possible, but my partner holds me back as he wants to know about every penny and why i chose this over that etc etc, lol
