Meta Tags - Title

An update...

I found where to get rid of the model number and price. Under Admin->Configuration->Product Info-> Meta Tags..., etc. Now, I need to get rid of the name of the product.

All I want is the title that I defined in the meta_tags.php file. Nothing else, no extra crap rolling around up there. I see where the meta tags are collected (in the modules section), I can get rid of it that way, but there has to be a simpler way.

Is there?

Just out of curiosity, why do you not want the product name in your shop title? I agree that the model number and price are totally unnecessary and a waste of precious space, but the product names (if meaningful) are important in terms of SEO...

It's not that it is not important or that it even can not be there, it just drives me crazy that I can not figure out how to turn it off. A lot of this cart's program is just like that. too damn many "techy" features that can be easily changed or turned off (horizontal product listing comes to mind).

I would just like to know. :)

If you want to override the title on specific products or categories, you can set up custom metatags content for each by clicking on the black or orange biohazard symbol in the product-listing in the admin.

If you want to force the entire site to no longer dynamically build your metatags, you can customize the /includes/modules/meta_tags.php module until your heart's content.

Keep in mind that good SEO practices include dynamic TITLE tags which are similar the H1 tag content on your page and/or the links leading to that particular page. If you set all pages to a static title, you lose significant page rank in search engines. There are reasons for the metatags being built like they are.
