In a free shipping zone get this error (shipping cannot be determined at this time)

As in the title of this thread, I have the shipping zones working perfectly, in that anyone spending over 100 in the uk gets free shipping, and anyone in the rest of the world spending over 200 also gets free shipping, the cart works this out great, however when the shipping is worked out free the customer gets an option at the checkout stage to select free shipping, and an option like this also to chose from
Zone Rates (The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time): £0.00

This is confusing for the customer they don't know whether they are entitled to free shipping or not. Also in their confirmation email, after they have made the order it doesn't say shipping cost free or whatever it says this Zone Rates (The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time): £0.00 at the bottom of the email, again something I would like to fix.

i have the same problem! What does the yellow circle stand for in the shipping module in admin. When it is yellow, the free shipping option does not show!

Yellow means either something is not configured correctly or that you have set conditions such as Zones on the Shipping Module ...

There is no such thing as "I have the same problem" ... could you be more specific as to the problem and what shipping modules you have specifically installed and configured?

I solved this by modigying the PHP file that contains Zone Rates some of these words(The shipping rate cannot be determined at this time) to say Free Shipping. This does the trick for me as free shipping is now showing on the invoice and on the checkout stages.

Not the ideal solution ... but a hack work around that gets you by ...

It would be nice to resolve this correctly and find out what the real problem is on your site ...

Could you post all of your setting for this module?

Hello Linda, yes it would be good to get a full solution, however I am not sure exactly what you mean when you say post all the settings for this module, I will try ...
I have modified the last line of the file includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/zones.php to read define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONES_UNDEFINED_RATE', 'FREE shipping');

Within Admin I have modules>shipping set, there are 2 zones set up. GB for local and a price, Zone 2 for rest of world and a different shipping price. Here is an example of zone 2 shipping table data 199:10, 10,000:0 ... in other words spend 200.00 or more for free shipping else pay £10.00 shipping

Unfortunately I am not sure what if any other settings I modified, I think this was it ... if you need specific settings in specific PHP files please tell me and I will find them.

You should not be using the comma in the 10000 ... the comma is a delimiter to that text and that is causing issues ...
199:10, 10,000:0

Should be written as:
199:10, 10000:0

well I changed that comma to the following
199:10, 200:0
which I hope means anything less than 200 = 10 shipping. over 200 = 0 cost shipping.

However, after putting zones.php back to its default original format I still get the same error 'shipping cannot be determined at this time' ... sorry.
