I just saw your example and that is exactly what I wanted. I will look for the module. Thank you very much for your help.
My test site is www.aaadisplaygroup.net until it is finished which should be soon.

I installed the module, however, it does not appear any differently than before I installed it. I have read the instructions and tried turning off and on the referral code just in case that was conflicting and no difference. I am obviously missing something. Could it be related to the applezen template?
I would appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

Never mind! I figured it out. I did not upload the file that was intended to go to the my template folder in instruction #3.

Hey there! I tried to upload the module to my site; however after copying all the files as stated in #3 I hit a snag. #4 says this:
4. Run the SQL file install_referrals.sql on your database. You can use the
Install SQL Patches in the ZenCart Admin Panel under Tools -> Install SQL Patches or you can use phpmyadmin for this purpose.
however when I install the sql through the installer in my admin panel this is what I got:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'true', 'false'), ', now())' at line 1
in:
[INSERT INTO zen_configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, set_function, date_added) VALUES ('Display "Other" Referral option', 'DISPLAY_REFERRAL_OTHER', 'true', 'Display "Other - please specify" with text box in referral source in account creation', '1', '22', 'zen_cfg_select_option(array('true', 'false'), ', now());]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.
I havent' a clue how to install it via phpmyadmin -- not even going to try to learn either as I have yet to have anyone explain how to do anything in there in a way that is extremely simple and/or walk me through it. If anyone can help that would be great! I know it's a simple thing, but being that I am a mere 'beginner" to all this programming, I need someone to help that can use "simple" easy to follow instructions. thanks in advance. Gypsy
I have had similar problems with using sql from files in the past. I was able to solve the problem by copying everything in the file and pasting it into the large field rather than processing a file. Hope this helps.
Thank you hrm! I don't know if you realize this but you are the very first person that gave this answer?!?!? I wish everyone else that figured it out had posted this answer instead of ... "i figured it out and it's working. thanks" Um.. great for all of you that got it working, but a little help for those of us still in trying to figure it out!
When you are ready to Install SQL in the admin tools panel, Put the code directly in the box and install. DO NOT browse for file and upload as you will get that funky 1064 error. Why? haven't a clue. But pasting the code directly into the box worked wonders! And a round of applause to HRM for posting this! You are a priceless gem!
If you are using something like the Google Analytics, their system will tell you clearly which key words were used to find your website.
As for the "how did you hear about us" question, I would recommend you prepare a list of standard responses in a pull down menu format for this. Otherwise, the answers will tend to be nonsense or blank or worse. :-)
