Subscribe to newsletter sidebox?

I have been searching endlessly for a sidebox that allows users to join the newsletter without having to create an account. Each one I've found seems to require you to sign up with some newsletter website... I do not want to do this... it is just more disorganization. I can send emails from my web server.

Is there any module out there that allows me to send newsletters from my own server and the users don't have to be a member of the website?

Maybe not exactly what you are seeking but it works well is the Newsletter Subscribe module available in the downloads/other section

So does the Newsletter Subscribe Module work in 1.3.7 as well? It says it works in 1.3.6.

Yes, but/and you can diff any files(always a good practice) that are replacements in overrides or not but I recall their being few.
