zone for every state

i have been having trouble with out of state orders (i am in georgia) I know I have my taxes set up properly for georgia but do i need to set up a zone for every state in the union?


someone tried to order from ohio and it said we are not accepting orders from there

what do i need to set up

Do you have zones set on your shipping and/or payment modules?

Unless you are doing something special, your zones are only there to manage taxes ... not shipping or payment methods so you shouldn't need any set ...

i had a zone set for Georgia

since my store is in georgia i knew i had to change the tax for Georgia

it was the only way i knew to get it to set the tax for georgia was to add the Georgia zone to the cc payment module

was this incorrect?

how should i collect tax for Georgia customers but no tax for anyone else?

You don't need the tax set on the Payment Module ... you need the Tax set on the products ...

Setting the Zone on the Payment module means only people in Georgia can checkout with CC ...
