DHL shipping mod help.

Sorry for the double posting etc. but I didn't want to continue to hijack someone else's post...


Anyway, my question is... Would there anyone be willing to lend us a hand with a dhl shipping mod as it has seems to falling between the cracks. Due to unreliability from UPS and USPS we are very desperate. Meaning when they damage our breakable shipments ($500+US) they almost never honor the Insurance claims for one reason are another.

DHL to date has not broken any of our breakables and we're talking over 100 shipments delivered successfully via them...

I'm so desperate to get this Mod I have hacked one of the old ups mods to just look like the customer has chosen DHL. Because of the simple fact that we print our labels via DHL's website the only thing I need on my cart is to collect the right amount of shipping and for the customer to expect a yellow truck as opposed to a brown truck. This can be done by adjusting the handling fee as DHL is a bit more $. Worth every penny I might add.... This method is bit dirty as far as UPS is concerned but we're real desperate.

Anyone want to make a simple one that just collects the right amount of postage based on weight /zip and we'll be all over it. I mean we don't need the all the other bells and whistles that I have heard many speak of. Sure that could be added later but for now I think simple is better.

Yes, but it would crash the cart.... Searched the forum/google. Still no luck...

My UPS mod hack works ok... It's the bonehead way of doing it but it works. I changed the UPS icon to the dhl etc., etc.. It even includes the term DHL in the order confirmation emails... So at least when the yellow truck shows up, they wont be surprised...

Any help doing it the right way would be greatly appreciated...

Have you tried it on a clean install of Zen Cart v1.3.7.1 without any other add-ons in a test directory with a test database just to see if one of your add-ons such as Google is breaking things?

Yes, I'm afraid so... It could just something I'm doing wrong of course but I see a lot of chatter around the zen forum discussing problems with this mod. I'm pretty sure it has been some what abandoned for sometime now. Please trust me that I have tried pretty much everything before reaching out to you but your right, it doesn't hurt to ask. However, I could be missed something...??

It's funny that I can hack up your old ups script good enough to fool my customers, but for the life of me I cant get the dhl mod to not crash.. Whether its a new test or my current cart. The results are pretty much the same. Crash.... It crashes when you click checkout??? Before you even get to the shipping selection page???

I was about to email dhl for their "developers tools etc." when I came across a post here that someone has done just that. It's seems from the post that dhl wasn't much help???

Is this happening when it is the only shipping module installed ... meaning all other modules are removed and not simply marked as disabled?

Just so you know - I am sure that UPS would NOT like you using their servers for rates and then NOT using their service. Might want to read their terms of service ...

I wish i did. It just hangs up when you click on "go to check out".. Then after a few long second it tries to get your browser to download a 0kb "index.php" Then you end up back on to you shopping cart like you never clicked "checkout"...??

I'm using a fresh install of the latest cart with all other shipping mods deleted. At least the ones I am able to delete.... and no other mods installed. I have 2 products in the cart just for testing... Other then that it's fresh out of the Zen cart box, so to speak...

I am attempting to debug it but it doesn't seen to want to save the debug file.??

Ok, so lets see after the amount of $$$ they did not honor in Ins. claims, lets just say I have little regard for there TOS. Besides, I thought thats exactly what I was tying to do in this forum. >>>Do it the right way so as not to run all over there TOS. I guess you missed that...

I really just want some help without someone replying to my post to just state the obvious.. But thanks though.....

I think it is real evident that we don't care for each other a whole lot, so maybe in the future we could just avoid each others post. please, pretty please....

I forgot, In the admin shipping mods section of the cart.... When it is turned on I get a yellow light as opposed to a green???? Does the same whether in test mode or production mode...

It really seems like something simple........ I'm just missing it.......
