Default payment module page is NOT working

    Hello,

I couldn't find whether or not this has been reported before but the Payment Module page is not working. Example: http://www.fakewebsite.com/store/adm...hp?set=payment

When I try to go to the page I get an IE Error and it can't display the page. In FireFox, the page is just completely blank.

What is weird is that the Order Total and Shipping Module pages work perfectly. Another odd thing is that the Payment page will work randomly after every 100th click or so.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

    What Payment modules are installed?

If you only had Check/Money Order moneyorder installed and all others Removed ... does the page work?

Hey Linda, I think you are absolutely correct in saying this. The two modules I have installed are the Check/Money Order AND the PayPal Payment Module.

My only problem is that the page will not open so that I can Un-install the PayPal module to see if the page works.

Do you have any suggestions of how I can un-install it any other way? Any MySQL code to run? I am really stumped here!

    Thanks!

I couldn't find the "edit post" button, but does anyone know how I can un-install the PayPal module so I can do what Linda said to do?

Other than using MySQL, what can I do? Also, if I do have to use MySQL, what code what I upload into it?

Like I said before, I am stumped! LOL

IF you go to the Modules ... Payments ... in your admin and receive errors then you either have a broken payment module, have mixed up the code and the language files, have duplicate class names in 2 or more modules or have bad files ...

    Look in the directory:
    /includes/modules/payment

Check that these match what comes with a clean Zen Cart v1.3.7.1 ...

    Then check:
    /includes/languages/english/modules/payment

Check that these match what comes with a clean Zen Cart v1.3.7.1 ...

    Thanks Linda for the help.

What I did was re-uploaded a clean version of both of the files you told me to upload.

This time when I clicked on the Payment Module link in the Admin area, it worked BUT then I tried to click on the PayPal module link, and then I got an Internet Error. And now when I go to click on the Payment Module, it doesn't work anymore.

This is what I was explaining when I was saying it is very random.

Does this give you any further detail as to what is wrong?

    Thanks Linda!

    Cheerful Trails,

    Christian

Okay, so I went here to the Zen-Cart site, found the PayPal patches, and installed them.

Then when I went into the Payment Module page in the Admin area, it worked for a second, and I un-installed the PayPal module (because this is what is says to do after installing the patch) but then after I clicked that, the page went error.

So now I am in an even bigger predicament, because now my customers can't pay with PayPal. LOL

So basically, I had a clean version of the files, and then installed the patch, and un-installed the PayPal IPN module, but now it still doesn't work. : )

If your payment modules page in the admin isn't working, that is almost always a result of having "extra" files in the /includes/modules/payment folder.

    1. Do not rename files in that folder in order to "keep a backup". You ONLY want .php files there.
    2. Do not put extra files in there that don't have a corresponding "language" file in the /includes/languages/english/modules/payment folder. There must be a file of the SAME name in BOTH folders.
    3. Remember that ONLY language-files should go in the languages folder, and ONLY payment-module "code" files should go in the modules folder. If you mix them up, you'll have problems.

The patch file contains the full and complete folder structure in the zip, so if you retain that structure when unzipping and uploading, you should not run into problems.

So ... go and make sure that the files in the folders mentioned are correct.

Thanks DrByte. I just checked both the language and module folders and they match up. And they are all .php and no extra files.

Could it possibly be a MySQL error?
