Signup Form Error

Hi,

I installed fresh zen cart on my local system. When i sign up and press submit button i have the following error:

"Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function."

I thought this problem occurs on local system only. I upload my complete website there when i press submit button (After filling the sign up form) i have a blank page come which show nothing.

How can i resolve it??

what do you have for email send type in
admin-> configuration -> email

I try every method php,sendmail, etc. but still error on signup form. How would i know that my server used this specific email method. My site is host on Linux server.
