Problem with main page editing.

Ok well i'm using a custom template that a designer made for our company. I'm having problems editing the front/main page. I go into define page editor and edit the main page, and save and it does not change anything on the front back. I checked my define page settings and they are all on 1. this is really pissing me off i've been working on this for about 3 days straight now. this is my last hope. I also ordered the book from zen cart hoping that it would help me. but its only told me what i've already done. here is the link. i'm trying to edit the space below the flash design and below where it says click here to login.

In your admin, when you try to edit the file, did it give you a "Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions" warning?

No it doesnt say anything.. when i click save the define page i was on just goes away and goes back to the only thing i can do is mess with the pull down for which define page i want to edit and the text editor.

i'm about to give out the pass so someone can show me how to do this ########. i'm so fustrated

if you are having trouble w/ the admin -> tools-> Define pages editor, you could do it w/ out it, by editing a file directly.
Do you know your way around and FTP cleint?

no, i dont even know how to access the FTP files. if i did i could prolly figure it out. kinda new at this, they kind of threw it at me, i'm a cad designer.
