    Default cannot add images

I can add a category and product with all its details but images are not uploaded or displayed.

This happened with osCommerce and now Zen Cart. Anyone have any ideas why?

Make certian that the permissions on the /images folder are set to 777 while you build the shop. You can alter this after complete but will have to change back to 777 to add images through the admin

Permissions for images and sub-folders were already set to 777.

What type are the images? I am referring to the color encoding

I have only run into this with jpg's that are encoded with cymk color information.

These are for "Print" ready duplication and do not display on the web. Jpg's encoded as cymk must be altered to RGB color to display over the web.

    This might be your issue??

Can test by trying to upload a test image that you know is rgb from the Zen Cart distribution

I am pretty sure mine are all RGB. Anyway, I have done as you suggested and I cannot even use an image from the Zen Cart distribution.

Must be an issue with your install and you can try re-loading the files over what is there to see if that fixes it or look at the files for one that is "0" bytes (did not load correctly)

As this is not normal behaviour

I have already carried out a re-install which fixed an access problem to admin and I have checked for zero byte files.

I agree that this should not happen and I am frustrated because I just cannot proceed with this program until this is solved. Maybe I need to delete the files again and carry out yet another install but I am not confident because I have already been down this route with osCommerce and ended up with the same result.

I can FTP the images to the images folder but this makes absolutely no difference.

I am considering trying another server.

I have tried a different server and it works on this server. I've no idea what the difference is between the two servers. I presume it has something to do with how they are set up.
