    Default payment modules not working

I'm rather new to all this so if anyone can help that'd be much appreciated.
I'm halfway through the testing phase for Protx and it say I have to make a payment transaction from my website. Although when I try to do this I keep getting the response
Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested.

You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.
This happens with both PayPal and credit cards. I'm obviously missing something here but can't figure it out. Can anybody help?

That happens when the system detects that your cart is empty but shouldn't be empty on whatever page you were at.

You're going to need to explain in exact detail what you're doing to get to this error in order to figure anything out about it.

It will also help if you share the URL where this is happening, and list the specs of your site, such as:
    - version of Zen Cart, PHP, MySQL, apache
    - who is your hosting company
    - are you using SSL or not? which SSL certificate did you buy ?
    - what addons or contributions have you installed?
    - was this Zen cart site ever upgraded from an older version? which one?
    - what template are you using on this site?
    - when you installed Zen Cart, were there any warnings that you ignored?

Having that kind of information might get you more responses to your post, as it gives folks something to go on. Without it, you may or may not get any help ...

Ok, cheers. I'll do my best here.
All I'm doing is to click on an item (the only item in the shop that I've put any products on (in this case Green & Blacks Dark cherry chocolate)). I've added 3 items to it and whenever I enter 1, 2 or 3 into the shopping basket and then try checkout I keep getting the following message.
Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested.

You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.

So to answer your other questions
    1.https://www.rentacart.co.uk/~menuorg..._page=time_out
    2. Zencart version 1.3.7; PHP version 4.4.4; MySQL 4.1.22-standard; Apache 1.3.37(?)
    3. Hosting comapny - rentacart.org
    4. I bought an SSL - think was 128bit encryption
    5. No addons that I know of
    6. No, its never been upgraded.
    7. Template is AppleZen
    8. The Zen cart was already loaded into the template

Hope all this helps and thanks

I found your post, from last August. I'm having a similar problem. Did you ever solve the problem. If so, how?

Here is one circumstance that causes this error message.

I just encountered it on a site that has been active for quite some time. It turned out the hosting company was upgrading servers/software, and this site had just been moved to the new platform. This meant that the URL for the secure area (through the hosting company) had changed. The Zen Cart setup was still sending people to the OLD secure area (presumably on a different machine, still reading the old DB) at checkout, and of course in that location they had nothing in their carts.

Changing the secure server URL's in the config files fixed it.
