Default Lower Price but Not a Sale?

I need to put a "new lower price" on several items in my store, all from different manufacturers. However, it's not a sale nor a special, it's just that I've managed to find some items cheaper and like to pass the savings directly on to my customers.

I'd like to have it show the old price (crossed out) and the new price. How do I do that?

I am also very interested in how to do this. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

This feature does not exist at this time ...

If you use Specials already, then you would need to clone Specials ...

Or, if you do not use Discount Qty Prices, you might be able to adapt this ...

The problem is, that Specials are managed in relation to Prices ... as such, marking a price up or down while still displaying the original price but giving this additional price for both display and checkout is more than just a passing line or two of code ...

I am not sure if one of the other Discount add-ons could be adapted for this, as this is a temporary thing on your site ...

I am also interested in trying to add a discount to my products but have a huge problem.

I have over 8000 products in many different categories. I want to discount the categories by different percentages without having to completely rewrite the product database.

Is there a way to do this? It would take forever to manually change all the products in the specials option. Is there a way to do this on a global category scale?

    Thanks for any help.

Are these discounts permanent or temporary?

Does a given Discount apply to all Products in a given Category?

I want to be able to display M.S.R.P. crossed out, then list our price as the normal selling price.

This will be different for each product but don't mind inputting both values when setting up each product page.

It will also be permanent, but not the same for each product in a given category, to answer your Q.
    Thanks,
    Derek

I am also interested in acheiving something like:

    Your Price: $69.00
    List Price: $99.00
    You Save $30.00

Is there a possibility of acheiving this?

    Check out this Mod.

MAP Pricing = Manufacturer's Advertised Price.
    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=158

It is used when you want to sell something for a price that is lower than what you are able to advertise on your website. The price will only display in the cart.

May not be exactly what you were looking but might be a good alternative until you do.
