Thank you for the help, but that seems to not work out for me. what I'd like to do is have a shipping cost field on the product description page, where I can set a flat shipping price for each item. and since I'm using drop shippers, I'm not shipping from my warehouse, and USPS and UPS aren't really options because I use multiple suppliers in different locations in the US. The table rate just will not do what I need it to do. If you could suggest something else I would appreciate it a lot.

The built in Shipping Module Per Unit perweightunit is designed to use the products_weight field as the actual shipping cost of the product ...

    You might try that ...

How do I set that up. I see you have been around here for a while now Linda. I'm not real sure about some thing on here and how they work. Do I need to cut off all my shipping Modules except for this one you are talking about . Will that one show up on each page I set a price for. example I want to charge $10.00 for this Item and $ 5.00 for that Item $69.00 for another.
    Thank you again

The part where I write the code that runs your shop might be one of the reasons I hang out here a lot ...

If you set the Tare weights to 0:0 and the Maximum Size to 5000, remember you are about to use this as a dollar amount and not a weight ...

Then when you set a products_weight to 12 the shipping for that product is now $12.00 ... set the products_weight to 0.25 and the shipping for that product is now $0.25 ...

When you install the Per Unit perweightunit Shipping Module, the Shipping Cost per Unit is default to 1 or $1.00 ...

NOTE: This also allows you to clone this shipping module for say Canada to be Shipping Cost per Unit 1.25 so that a products_weight set to 10 which is $10.00 for the US would be $12.50 for Canada ... or however you might want to configure this ...

You have been a great help Linda. It is working out great. I have 1 more question for you, then I will leave you alone until tomorrow lol. Is there away I can give my customers a discount on shipping if they buy more than 1 Item from me. Is there A module for that like there is for free shipping if you buy over a certain amount.
    Thanks again

I read this post and am using this little "trick", using the "weight" to set a shipping price for each individual item. It works great except for one thing. All my products have these crazy "weights" (the shipping charge). If I charge $7.95 to ship a large pillow, it says the "weight is 7.95 lbs., which it isn't. My CD's are $2.00 to ship, and again it shows the weight of a CD as 2 lbs.

Can I remove the Weight from showing at all? That would work fine for me since I never ship by weight.

    Donald
