Using Zen Cart for Carpet retail

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone can help me - I'm trying to set up a website to sell carpets and accessories.

The problem I have is that the user needs to specify the length of the carpet for the price to be defined - I've looked at all the options yet can't find a way to do it. This website - http://www.ukcarpetsdirect.com/ does it and I want to re-create that format.

Can anybody help?

To do this you would need to create two product types, one for carpets and one for accessories whose price isn't measured by length.

You would then set the price for the carpets to be the price per unit of length, and adjust the wording on quantity field to reflect the need to enter a measurement rather than quantity.

I've been testing and figured I would have to set up two product types.

The problem I'm getting is that my cart shows 4.2 items in cart for say when 4.2 metres is ordered - I only want one item to show in the cart - am I doing something wrong or do you know of a workaround for this?
