Discount on total order value

Dear community,

first of all sorry if my issue was resolved before. I am not sure about the English terminology so perhaps I missed appropriate key words.

OK, what I want to do is quite simple. Is there a chance to give a discount (percent or fixed value) on an order which does not depend on product configuration, coupons or other things? In practice this would look as follows: The customer places an order with several order items resulting in a total order value of 2.000 Euros. Now I simply want to subduct the value of 200 Euros resulting in a total order value of 1.800 Euros.

I don't know which approach to take (manipulation of the order or the invoice data). Is there any way to do that? I did not manage to add discount or additional order items to orders placed by customers.

Peter, there are a lot of discounting modules available. Try starting with Group Discounts, which is built in, and see how you like that.

I don't know how to implement this in Group Discounts. Because I did not find that. ;-) Is it Group Pricing? Doesn't matter, Group Pricing did not help a lot, too.

Isn't it possible to simply edit orders (order items, rebate...) within Zen Cart?

Sorry, I did not manage to configure it properly. But I will take a look again.

I don't want a general discount or a discount based on any values/products/coupons. I just want to decide on a discount per order. Let's say, if I have a good day I will give discount, if not then not. ;-) Sorry, it is really hard for me to describe. There are no discount rules based on anything but my choice.

Has anyone but me noticed that combining edit orders and the standard group pricing results in edit orders not only adding the discount but adding based on the amount of the order BEFORE the edit?

Bumping an old thread with a reply -- I don't want a flat "group" discount, I'd rather have realtime discounts for users based on a sales volume. this add-on would seem to have the desired outcome but as it's for v1.3.5 I daren't install it. I scoured the rest of the add-ons but couldn't find anything which had a similar ability.

Can anyone direct me on how to apply a pre-tax, dollar-based discount for users who have been granted a certain discount level?

Example...

Level 1 = 3% on < $1000 / 5% $1000 > $2500 / 8% > $2500
Level 2 = 5% on < $1000 / 10% $1000 > $2500 / 15% > $2500

You could do this with the Quantity Discounts contribution with a bit of extra code.
