getting rid of demo links and some other questions

Hi. This is the first time ive used zen cart and i would like to comment on how great it is. Good work!

question 1.
i want to remove the following links from my site.

Ezpages
zen cart
shared
action dvd's
shipping & returns
gift certificate FAQ

Ive looked about in the admin section but cant seem to find where they are!
Can somone please point me in the right direction.

question 2.

I have installed zen cart on my server.
It is located at the following address.

http://mysite.com/zen-cart-v1.3.7-fu...006/index.php?

However i obviously dont want /zen-cart-v1.3.7-full-fileset-12302006/ at the begining of my url!

Is there something i can do about this? I dont want to use a redirect either for seo reasons.

1) Those links are all defined in the admin, under Tools --> EZ-Pages.

2) Two possibilities. First is just to move your entire file structure down one folder. You'd need to change your includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php files to match. The other option is to use mod_rewrite (if you're on a linux server) to do a 'behind the scenes' redirect.

Given that you've added the demo products to a site that you eventually intend to take live, I'd highly recommend just deleting what you've got (including the contents of the database) and re-installing without the demo products. It'll take less time than cleaning them all out.

ok thats great. ive moved the file structure and edited the config file and it works fine.

There are still a few grey areas regarding the links.
I have removed all that i could from the ez pages section.

However

• Gift Certificate FAQ
  
• and
• Shipping & Returns

are still there and i cant see any reference of them.

i also have a few more questions.

• I tested the checkout process with the test credit card info and noticed that there wasnt a download link after the sale was confirmed. Is that normal for a test purchase?

• Also how to i change the text colour of the sign up form, checkout info, order confirmation etc? i bascially want 99% of th text on my site to be white!

• Also i want to add an adsense column. I have added a 'more info' column on the right hand side although i cant figure out where to edit the contents or header. Any sugguestions?

I love this program although im getting myself into a pickle as everything seems be in different places with different ways of altering.

What payment module did you use for the test?
What is the "status" of the order?
If the order is still in "pending" mode (ie: payment hasn't been validated) then the download links aren't made available.
You can update an order's status in the admin under Customers->Orders->Edit.

Did you utilize the Configuration ... Define Page Status ...

NOTE: Gift Certificates are turned OFF by simply going to the Modules ... Order Totals ... click on Gift Certificates ... click on REMOVE ...

Ajeh! what do you mean by "utilize the Configuration"?
The Define Page Status section, as far as i can see, only seems to determine which links are shown!

chuck! I used both the credit card module with the test credit card number and the zen cart FREE CHARGE CARD.

There still isnt a download link however!

I have enabled downloads in the configuration/attributes section
I have checked that the product URL (without http://) is correct.
I have changed the order staus to delivered.

Is there something i have to do in the attributes section? I have had a look although i dont really understand what i am supposed to be doing there.
Are these setting mandatory?

Any sugguestions are grealty appreciated!

I had to set attributes for the product!
