Removing subcategory from main category page

How do I remove the subcategory from main category page, similar to this:

I did a quick search and found a suggestion to go to layout settings and set Categories>Always Open to Show SubCategories to 0, but it only removed subcategories from the categories sidebox.

I think I'm having a "dumb" day, but when I look at the link you provided, it looks like they do have sub-categories showing? Maybe I'm not understanding what you're asking. (Very possible -- I'm still recovering from my three week trip to Spokane and back!)

How do you get rid of the the categories on the top of the zen cart.
I mean when I add a category, it goes on the side of the page, that is fine, but it also goes at the top of the page.

I.E. Gift Baskets are on the side and at the top of the page
