my webstore is http://hiquatec.com and i'm using the cherry zen template and i love it except for one thing, the categories. Is there a way to upgrade the look of the categories to something like the drop for apple zen?

You can install the CSS drop menu found in the Downloads/Other Modules section (see my signature), which is the exact menu from apple zen, or if you want categories across the menu that drop down to subcategories, download the "Paul's Version", right below it.
