Default Stop products from being disabled?

Whenever any of my products goes out of stock, ZenCart automatically disables it as well. Is there anyway to stop this? (Since I want to allow customers to see and request restock if they want)

    Regards,

Admin> Configuration> Stock and set the program to not check stock and allow checkout with no stock

    Thanks kuroi,
If I set "not check stock" then customers would be able to buy products that are not in stock? This is not very desirable in my case.

PS: I have just seen the option "Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to", changed it to 1, should work now! Thank you for pointing me to admin->config->stock

The order would be treated as a backorder. An alternative would be to set "Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to" to 1, and rely on customers contacting your manually through the contact page.

In my case I can't always restock the products the customers want, so I have a "request restock" mod installed, so it's better that backorder in my case.

    Thanks again kuroi ^^.

I have this set this way - set to 1 - but when I select "Out of Stock" for a product it is still disabled. I have double checked this setting 3 times and re-set it as well.

If you add/edit a Product and Manually set the Product to be Out of Stock then it is marked products_status = 0 and will not show in your Catalog ...

Try setting the product to "in stock" and products quantity = 0 (bottom left of the page).

I tried this first, but it is still available to order. I have tried setting different quantity/stock fields for the item to 0 but it is always available to order by customers.
