    Default shared ssl intermitent css probs

    Hi,

    i have transfered my site from another host. i am having intermitent css loading problems (i think) in the secure pages of my store but no patterns i can identify yet. if anyone with a wiser mind could take a look it would be much appreciaed.

    http://www.cuppateal.com/musicservices
    https://secure.hostmonster.com/~cupp...opping_service

    things i have tried.

    -fiddling with the config files but i think they are right and have researched the required settings
    -searched for similar problems here but no solution
    -switched to classic template but no.
    -installed fresh zencart and same prob on fresh install
    -talked to host but not much help other than to say it was a code problem

    thanks for any help

    No Idea why the difference between the two but try adding a font size to this and I hope I noticed all of your issues:
    Code:
    #testimonial {float:right;
            font-size: 12px;
    	clear: right;

    The difference between the two is that the pages that are displaying correctly are being rendered using strict mode, while the ones that are being rendered incorrectly are using quirks mode.

    A possible fix for this would be to force quirks mode on all pages by changing your doctype.

    A better fix would be to figure out what's causing quirks mode to be triggered. I've looked over it and I have to say I'm stumped here, though ....

    Yeah I re-looked at this and that was only one issue as many are displayed differently

    Perhaps the quirks-mode issue might be explained by invalid markup ? The page at the SSL URL posted earlier doesn't validate.

    thanks all for your input, i will investigate what could be triggering quirks-mode (or take hints :-) and tidy up the html and see where it leaves me.

    The pages that display wrong only do it sometimes. like if the page renders wrong and then i refresh it, sometimes it comes back correct and same the other way around.

    That could be a webserver performance problem with your hosting company ... Perhaps they've got you on an overloaded server ...

    Just an update, so i've ruled out any custom code i think. i installed a fresh install manually, and through fantastico and both had the same issues.

    so i guess it's something in the host/account setup.

    trying to get them to give me a bit more help but i'm guessing you'll all suggest getting a new host with fair reason.

    Question- do you have the ZenID hardcoded in the link to the Shopping Service page?

    No all of the links use the dynamic zen href system. i used the custom page just as an example. all the ssl links have probs like login and cart etc. also a fresh install of zencart 1.3.7.1 does it from install on all ssl pages.
