Text attribute problem under Internet Explorer

I have a problem with the text attribute box showing up very wide in internet explorer while in Firefox it is showing well. Since most of my clients are likely to be using internet explorer, and might use lower resolutions, this might be a kind of bad thing for my site.

I have uploaded two images that show the difference.

How can I fix this?

Here are the details:
1. Using zen-cart 1.37
2. Using silverfish template
3. Text attribute with problems is Rows = 3, Display size = 32, Maximum Length = 90. It is the "Message" attribute in both attachments.

On the left is ie (65 chars minimum size- way too wide), on the right is firefox (34 chars - moreless the way it is supposed to look).
