Changing navigation text

Hi, i want to change the text that is currently used on the sideboxes for hyperlinks. At the moment it is the default red text that displays the catagories for each product. Is it possible to change the menu style to something similar to the navigation on the left on this site?

Even if i cannot do this, i just want to change the horrible red text that displays atm.
