    Default Categories List

    Is it possible to use an override on tpl_categories.php to basically setup my own layout for the box.. But use links to the right cat pages? I want to incorporate some nifty imaging and feel it would be much easier if I can just strip that tpl file

    This is normally done in the stylesheet

    Function = functions, classes & modules
    Form = tpl files
    style = stylesheet

    Hmm.. Please explain a bit if you could..

    My basic idea is.. I sell brake components.. The Categories list is going to be broken up into Manufacturer, Vehicle, Part.. My idea for the box is as shown below.. I'll try to make it visible by using text, hopefull you'll catch what I'm trying to do..

    [IMG Ford Logo]
    Cars
    - Escape
    - Taurus
    - Crown Victoria
    Trucks/SUV
    - Expedition
    - Explorer
    - Sport Trac
    - F150
    - F250/350 SD

    [IMG Chevy Logo]
    Cars
    - Malibu
    - Cobalt
    Trucks/SUV
    - Tahoe
    - Suburban
    - 1500
    - 2500 HD

    etc.. The only thing clickable will be the vehicles.. the "Cars" and "Trucks/SUV" are just text dividers..

    I figured the easiest way was to strip the tpl file and rewrite it to be like that and manually put each link to the product list..

    Any advice would be great.. BTW this Shopping Cart is amazing! I love it..

    Check out the Categories Dressing mod. It includes functions to do everything you are asking for.

    Thanks.. I'll look it over.. It's rather confusing and I'm somewhat of a good PHP programmer lol.. Just gotta tear it apart and get the feel of it.. So far it looks good.. Just what I needed :)

    Thanks a bunch!

    FIrst you will want to arrange (in admin > Catalog > Categories/Products) the sort order of all your vehicle name categories.

    Then note the cPath of each one that needs a heading or image above it, and use that per the readme. You can insert a mfr image and a heading at the same time above one category, i.e. Ford logo / Cars / -Escape.
