Can you manage stock by attributes?

Regularly we have, for example, the same product to sell but in several colours and several sizes. But we could have different numbers of each 'variable' in stock. Can we manage stock by attributes so that the site doesn't sell what we don't have anymore (if an option has already sold out)?

The most complicated it would get is, one product/image of a complete outfit, available for sale as separates:

Skirt. Top. Hat. Socks. (all can be bought from one product image AND are likely to have diffferent prices)

Blue OR White OR Pink. (some of the items may have colour choices - set attribute/variable)

Age 2,3,4,5,6. (stock must be managed by this but it must pull in colours & item too with relevant price per item)

See example at following link - The console then gives option to add in how many of each are in stock - we sometimes have very long lists to deal with every option! Stock numbers are reduced at time of sale, but only from the option sold.

We are presently moving our site and vast catalogue to Zen - so to be able to do this would be wonderful.

If it's not available, how do we go about getting a module arranged?
