Port 30,000

My web host will not open port 30,000 for the canada post shipping module, is there any way to work around this?

nope, this is a requirement for CP,
did your host give a reason for not opening the port?

They said they won't for security reasons, I've even send them to the cp website, I am going to try again, but it soesn't seem that they are going to budge on this. Bummer, this mod is exactly what I need to go live.

You have to understand that it's not the mod requirement, it's the canadapost requirement. If you are going to use that service, whatever mod it is, you will have to open that port.

Explain the situation to your host, tell them that this is essential for your business. And if they cant do it, go to a host that can open that port for you.
A host is just the tool for you to do your business, when the tool doesnt work, throw it away.
