    Default Processing CC Orders Manually?

I'm developing a website for a small business, and I just had a question about the way credit card orders work. I don't want to use PayPal or a merchant account. From what I read here, if I used the CC module, I'd get the middle 8 digits of a customer's credit card number in an e-mail, and the rest from the admin panel. The company has a credit card machine at their office, which they use to process fax orders and such. So, gathering from what I read, it'd be a violation if I compiled the credit card number together and entered it into the machine? I'm very confused and don't want to begin building the website until I have the payment system all figured out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If you mean re-coded this to bring both parts in a single mail or stored in entirety in the DB then YES this is a violation of the PCI rules

One article on this and you can Google for many more

Thanks for the response. I wouldn't store the compiled number anywhere, I would just have both the admin and the e-mail open when I process the order through the credit card machine. The completed cc number would never be written down anywhere, though. Is that still a violation?

Oh okay, I see. So as long as the credit card number is never put together, I should be in the clear? Thanks!

As merlin has pointed out this is allowed and meant to allow you to be able to process these manually. I did preface my reply with "If you mean"

    I am easily "comfused"
