Default Flat Rate for Multiple Zones

Here is my second shipping module contribution.

Like the Multiple Zones Table Rate module, this module allows you to set flat rate for multiple shipping zones.

It does not overwrite any file. Just upload and install in the admin control panel.

Thanks for your help but could you possibly explain how this works? If I wanted to ship a product to other locations out of my province, each province would have a different rate of shipping. I'd like to assign a flat rate according to what province they are recieving the package. Each package is basically the same size, shape and weight.
How could I use this flate rate shipping on each area?
I'm new to zen so still attempting to understand the workings of it.

I can't use the Canada Post connection because I'm on a sharred hosting and they won't open the port I need to connect to the Canada Post website.

Thanks for your help in this, I do appreciate it.

You may be able to correct me on this but I think after looking some things over I might be better using the zone rates? that way I may be able to adjust the shipping charge according to the zones I set up?

Thanks for anyone's help sometimes it just takes a newbe some time to wrap the brain around it all lol

Before you install this shipping module, you must define your Zones Definitions first.

Go to Locations / Taxes > Zone Definitions. Then click insert button to add new zone. Then select the zone and click details button. Finally insert the country and it's respective zone (province/state) there.

Zone rates does not allow you to specify different shipping rate for 2 or more zones in the same country.

OK from what I understand and I guess I'm looking for confirmation lol
I want to ship a flat rate to the continental usa and to canada.

What I've done is set the zones for the usa into four parts as the map seperates them, being, western states, midwest states, southern states, and northeast states and then in the zone definitions I placed each of the states one at a time that are in that sector.

for Canada I created three shipping zones, Western Canada, Central Canada, and Eastern Canada, then in the zone def. placed the provences that are in those sectors one by one.

this is all in the same area, Zone Definitions / Taxes, payment and shipping.
I have for the taxes the pst zone the gst zone and the hst zone.

so if I understand correctly, this will allow the cart to charge taxes and shipping to the canadian provences according to zones and then charge shipping only to the usa states?

I hope I'm doing this right
    Thanks

If I understand correctly, yes. No harm give it a test and see whether it works or not.
