red flag spammers are attacking heeeeeelp!

Somehow spammers have got hold of the email address on this website and the owner is recieving heaps of emails from his email address via the site?
Nowhere on the site is the email listed, not on any page.

Weeks ago I tested the email by uploading a php file and sending emails directly through the browser. I thought I had deleted this file but now I am thinking maybe this is the culprit.

I cant remember what file it was to delete it. Does anyone know what I am talking about so I can check please?

If this is not the cause has anyone got any ideas. It seems to have the extention of my host on it too - it is an addon domain?

Zen Cart doesn't leave email addresses lying around anywhere where they may be seen specifically to avoid these problems. The PHP script to which you are referring must therefore have been something custom so it's unlikely that anybody other than you will know where to find it.

However you could try searching for the offending email address by using the Admin > Tools > Web Developer tool which may find it and point you towards where it is located.

Though once an address is on the spammers list, the amount of unwanted email tends to only go up, even after its original source has been removed.

I am so sorry. This one was a false alarm.
The spam he was getting through his email is not coming from this site. I checked the old pages of his original site and they had his email address on them. I am glad it is not my error

    Thanks for replying though.
