Yet another contact-us problem

OK, one more contact us email that doesn't reach the store owner...
I looked at many previous posts telling about the same problem, changed a lot of settings like said in the answers, BUT I still can't get any contact us email!!!! Mummyyyyyyyyy!!!!

I can Send emails, no problem.

I know, one more of these!!!!
I already read tons of threads on this subject, tried many of the suggestions and solutions, BUT i'm still stuck with the same old problem: I can't get the contact us emails!!! I tested it, it works fine on the online store, no error message, nothing, but I don't get any email.

Here are my settings:

Youch! thats hard on the eyes and brain at 7am.
You have the Contact US address set to admin@... and every other address set to elise@....
So,
Does the admin@ address actually exist, and if so, is it ever accessed, or is it set to forward the mail anywhere?

Do you get new-account email when you create an account ?

I do get emails when a new customer registers and orders something.
The only problem so far is the Contact Us!!!!

Email Archiving Active? false
Please turn this on.

Then download and install this contribution:

Then do a test Contact Us message.

Then check the archive history via Admin->Tools->Email History (or is it called Email Archive?)
Can you see the Contact Us email listed in there?
If you can, then we know that Zen Cart properly generated the email but your server failed to deliver it.

Dr, thank you so much!!! At least I can see who contacted me, who cares if it doesn't get delivered in my email box, as long as I can get the contact us email!!!!

You really should still get to the bottom of this issue. There could be other emails that go missing unexpectedly. You should tell your host that the emails are getting delivered from Zen Cart to the mailserver but not getting delivered from the mailserver to you.

Could I stress again, that your Contact Us address is the ONLY place in the whole setup that you use admin AT eliseteagarden as an address.

Please change that to the same address used everywhere else in the setup, and send a test Contact Us message. If that works, you have a problem only with the setup of that email address/mailbox.

Admin and elise are the same account. I changed it back to elise and still can't get the email. I can retrieve it at least in the Archives!
I somehow feel daunted by the thought of having to contact Yahoo Small Business for that issue.....

Admin and elise are not the same account. Either one is an alias for the other, or is intended to forward to the other. You could have a problem in that setup.

Another possible problem area is if you have anything at all entered in the 'Set Contact Us email dropdown list in Config-Email Options.

Finally, given your reference to 'large internet organizations' supplying your hosting, remember that a 'Contact US' email is being sent by your site on behalf of a 3rd party, and looks a lot like spam or mail relaying if not configured exactly correctly, and could be being sent to a spam folder or deleted as a result.

It could also be returned, but if you do not have 'bounce' or 'postmaster ' email addresses or aliases set up for your domain, you will never see the returned messages.

I just followed the instructions on this thread and discovered all of the contact us emails that I have sent in the archive and the test one my daughter just sent so I know it works but why aren't the emails being forwarded to my account?

Server problems? :(

Hey, I still have the same problem and I just use the email archive, works fine for me! I don't have a lot of contact us mail so it's not a big problem.

I couldn't figure out why only the contact us mail isn't going through, while the other mails are fine!!!

Hi,

I had a similar problem. originally my contact us page was working just fine with one email. Then we were getting too many emails so i decided to add a few more emails to the dropdown to direct the questions to the appropriate people in our company. i added an email and tested it...when i used the contact us form with the original dropdown, i received the email just fine, but when i used the new one, we did not get the email. so i added a third with the same email as the original drop down and it still didn't work. i double and triple checked the comma delimited list and it was ok. decided to delete the new emails from the dropdown list and do some research. came to this thread and i turned on archiving and re-added the 2nd dropdown...was about to open phpmyadmin to check, but I got the email this time! my only guess is that maybe the first time i might have added a tab or copy and pasted a weird newline/return or some other bad character?? i even checked the configuration table in the db the first time and i didn't notice anything. so this isn't a scientific solution, but it might be worth a try to clear the dropdown list and retype it in.

Absolutely right, I have 4 addresses in the contact-us dropdownlist and in "beautifying" the adresses I have probably hit <enter> to make it more readable. Cleaned the list and everything is working again. Thanks peeceelee!
