Re Sizing Header Logo

Hi,

I have changed the header logo to one I have made myself, it is however too big and stretches right across the page. I have tried resizing this in the header.php with no success, I think the image actually needs to be made the correct size before I upload it.

What is the correct size for the header logo??

I have the same question. Mine is exactly the size req'd, but when I exchange it for another, it crops the thing and I get only 1/2 of the new one ?????
