help question changing from template to template?

How do you change from template to template and still have the same content settings and stuff. For example I changed text in includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM/index.php

If I build a different template say CUSTOM2. Do I have to copy includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM/index.php and make it

includes/languages/ENGLISH/CUSTOM2/index.php to have the same edits or is there a way to point CUSTOM2 to the already edited folders?

    Thanks
    Dave

Yes, copy all of the edited files that you want to be the same to override folders for any additional template. Total usually only 40-80k

Correct but this allows you to have differences between templates if so desired and if not just a copy of the same info.

There's a download that allows you to make some of your admin settings the default for all templates. I haven't used it, but it sounds like something that might be of use to you.
