How to hide sub-categories with no active products?

Hi All,

My structure is Category-> Sub-category 1 (inactive)-> Products (all inactive). Yet Sub-category 1 still shows up on the site.

Is there a setting in Zen Admin that would allow me to not display subcategories that are inactive when it is contains no active products? I will be getting them in stock later so prefer not to delete the products and/or sub category. I have both the sub category and all products marked as inactive now and the sub category still shows up.

I've tried the wiki and the forums with no luck...any help greatly appreciated.

An inactive Category that has the RED icon does not show ...

If it is showing, check and see if you have some sort of add-on or change to your templates that has changed the code ...

So definitely a front-end/template issue and not a setting in the admin I may have screwed up?

IF you see the cute little RED icons on the Category you should not see it in the Catalog ...

Now if you have active Products, those active Products will show on searches, sideboxes, centerboxes, etc. etc. etc.

Try switching to the Classic Template ... does it work?
