Please be more definitive on the "it" and what emails are being duplicated. While you're doing that, make sure you have not over-used the "send copy of blah-blah email to" in the admin.
A little help with colors.

In love with Zen Cart!!
When the customer makes an order they are getting two emails sent to them to confirm they have placed an order. I believe that is generated by the shopping cart.
When I use the email option from our website to email my customers who are signed up for the newsletter...the customer is getting two copies of the newsletter/email.
Not sure what a screen shot is, but I'll try and copy and paste this:

Defines if this server uses a local connection to sendmail or uses an SMTP connection via TCP/IP. Servers running on Windows and MacOS should change this setting to SMTP.
SMTPAUTH should only be used if your server requires SMTP authorization to send messages. You must also configure your SMTPAUTH settings in the appropriate fields in this admin section.
"Sendmail -f" is only for servers which require the use of the -f parameter to send mail. This is a security setting often used to prevent spoofing. Will cause errors if your host mailserver is not configured to use it.

What version of Zen Cart are you running?
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.
Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
1. Does this happen to *all* customers? Or just certain customers?
2. Does this happen for *all* emails sent by the store? (you talked about 2 of them)?
3. Does this affect contact-us emails sent to the store owner?
4. As Kim said, what version of Zen Cart are you using?
5. What addons/contributions do you have installed?
6. When did this all start happening?

As far as I know each person is getting two emails. I have had several people complain about it. It is confusing when they order something and get to responses about their order.
I just became aware of this problem a few months ago..don't know if it is new or if someone just finally took the time to tell me!
I am now getting two copies of every order that is placed with the site, and I never did before. (this started happening at the same time as the email issue was brought to my attention)
Not sure how to tell what version of zen cart I'm using...although it says at the top"the version you are using appears to be current."
I haven't added extra software or conversions...I'm green as a gourd and just use the software as it is.

Since you have email-archiving enabled, download and install the Email Archive Manager contribution, from here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=198
Then go to Admin->Tools->Email Archive Manager, and check to see whether two emails are actually being generated for everyone there or not.

Dr. Byte is correct, the critical question is whether the site is generating two emails, or whether it is being interpreted as 2 emails by the mail servers further down the line.
There was a spate of duplicate emails from some of the web based services with some email clients a while back, but I haven't seen anything recently.
