I am using the per item weight shipping module. (you are welcome to look at www.potplantsdirect.co.za - its still in testing).

To check calculations of totals I made the unit weight factor of 1 and added a handling fee of 10.

For products I use a tax rate of 3% commission + 14% VAT (which I would have like to be on separate lines but can't manage it!). I have a tax rate VAT and a tax rate commission, and they are both grouped under Commission & Tax and allocated to a product. This part is working fine

However shipping has only 14% VAT - no commission. I created a new tax rate (all countries, all zones), and a new class called VAT only. When I apply it to shipping (in the shipping module) it's ignored.

e.g. A R100 product has R17,42 in VAT on the product, but a shipping of 10 + 10. (No VAT). I can cheat by making the factor 1.14, and the handling fee 11.40, but is it says it can allow a tax on the shipping cost, there must be something wrong.

Any ideas where I can start looking?
