Product Images Randomly Disappeared - Now can't get them to work at all

I'm a bit confused about something happening with a zencart that I administer. I'm new at this, so perhaps I'm overlooking something.

I had a category set up with 4 products. All 4 products had images, and even additional images and large size images.

Last Thursday, for this category, the images decided not to work. When I went into the product edit screen, it said Image Name NONE. I reuploaded the image, in the preview screen before saving changes, I could see the image with the product description. So, I saved the changes. The image still doesn't show up.

I go back into the product edit screen, and it says Image Name NONE. I try to manually enter the name in the select existing file name from server. I preview it, image is there and it works. Save changes. The image still doesn't show up on the website.

I go back into the product edit screen, and again, Image Name NONE.

I deleted all the images from this directory, and the large directory for this category. Still, I can't get them to work. In the preview it shows up, but once the changes are saved, it doesn't hold onto the image with the product.

It's only 4 items, and it wouldn't be a big deal to reenter them all. But I think it is also a problem with the whole category, as if I try to enter a new item for that category, I also get the same image problem.

This doesn't happen with any of the other categories on my site. The site is charlestonrelics.com and the problem category is Misc Non Excavated.

If you see other items without images in other categories, it is just because we are relatively new and some just haven't been added yet.

Okay, I created a new directory for the photos and renamed each one slightly.
Now I'm getting an image with the products.

I'm just not getting the additional images and some large images.

I've found the images to be some of the more frustrating aspects of learning and using ZC. Is there some secret I'm not aware of? One thing I've noticed is if I try to upload all my images and then point the product to them, the additional images never show.
