special prices per customer

Is this possible - to offer special prices based on a customer.

So say if cutomer John logged in - then he would be able to buy t-shirts for $5 instead of the regular price of $10 that every other customer buys them at

The easiest way: you can give him a discount coupon (say 20% on all items)

The hard way: you would have to code a mod to do that.

You could also use the Group Discount and put John in the 20% Off group ...

NOTE: the discount will show on the checkout ...

NOTE: Group Discounts are based on ALL products not just SOME products ...

What if say i wanted to set it that if a customer bought 100 of the same item then they would get 10% discount.

IF any customer could buy 100 items for a discount then you want to look at the Catalog ... Product Price Manager ... and setup the discounts on the Product ...

so there is no way of setting up special net prices for just one customer



- i.e. they could have a list of special nets that are only for them listed in their account.

You could use the Group Pricing Discount if this is across the board discount for a customer and it would show in the checkout ...

I have an interest in this as well. I need a base price for each product which apply to all customers but some might be getting special prices, which will vary by customer. Is it possible to have the base price per product and then apply a variable discount per product, this would be different per customer.
Hope I have explained ok --- If this is not currently possible is it much of a major task to set it up or are we talking about a major overhaul?

You could do this by creating numerous groups and
add customer to relevant group for discount you wish them
to have.
Just means you will probably have many groups, each with
different discount.
