    Default Purple Shades template questions...

    Ok, I have an updated template to work with on my site. I believe it's more updated than my old one anyway.

    However, I am having a few problems with things looking out of place...

    1) my logo... I can't seem to center it on the header wrapper. I have it centered on the page but it's all the way at the top and doesn't look as though it should be up there.

    2) sideboxes... the white part is wider than than the title box part... looks out of place also.

    3) when looking at one item there is the area below for "other items also bought"... the pictures are right up to the dotted line around the description area. I need to move them down a little.

    Any help with these 3 things would be so awesome.

    I am learning things I never thought I would need to know with having a website but I am still very new.

    And willing to learn!!!

    Thank you!!!

    Cross off question number 2. Found that with trail and error.

    I do still however have questions 1 and 3 to work on.

    Thank you. Amber

    1) #logo {margin-top: 42px;} /*adjust to taste*/

    3) .centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch {margin-top: 23px;}

    You will be able to help yourself if you get the Firefox Web Developer extension and use it to get information about page elements.

    I did get FireFox and the Developer just the other night but I get an "invaild application" message when I try to install the developer.

    Any help with that would be nice too.

    Off to try your other ideas.... THANK YOU!!!!

    For the "invalid application" error, you had best post on a Mozilla support forum, or on Web Developer developer Chris Pederick's site (www.chrispederick.com).

    [QUOTE=gjh42;427147]3) .centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch {margin-top: 23px;}QUOTE]

    I must be doing something wrong with this advice...

    If I add it in... it does bring the items down from where they look wrong, however...

    it still places one item below a line, so there is still something out of place,

    AND... when I add it... it moves my subcats from a nice grid fashion to a single line top to bottom.

    Which I don't like.

    What am I doing wrong???

    Thanks, Amber

    h2.centerBoxHeading {margin-bottom: 23px;}

    will put space below the purple bar.

    Ok, yes, this does put space below the line but...

    it does not move the pictures off the line. The top of the pictures are still right up against it.

    You can see what I mean by looking just at my home page...

    On more than one page this is the issue.

    I'm very sorry that I can't figure this out. I am learning as I go.

    Thank you for your time...

    OK, you're looking at it in IE, which definitely has something messed up, as the wrapper is not expanding down to hold all the items. In Firefox it's fine.
    Unfortunately I don't know much about IE bugs or quirks, so I can't help with this problem. I don't see anything wrong in that part of the page in the HTML in view source.

    I am really confused about all this stuff.

    In IE my logo is fine but there are other goofs. In FireFox my logo is wrong but the other things wrong in IE are right here.

    How do I make them all what I want and need? Until recently I had never heard of FireFox, so whcih version is used more? Which one do I spend more time tweaking?

    This website stuff is harder than I thought it was going to be.

    I think I read in one of the posts over the last few weeks of reading everything on here I could that someone bought a book on all this stuff for Zen cart and that they thought it was worth the money. ..

    Does anyone else agree? I would buy it if it was worth the $45.

    Thank you Glenn for all your help.!
