    Default Weight Based Pricing

Please help me understand the pricing methods available to me if I am going to be selling meat online. Obviously, all products (meat cuts) are going to be priced according to a "price per lb"...in which case the customer will have the opportunity to select the number of lbs. they want to purchase. this amount selected should then be reflected in the cart checkout process.

I have THE book. I am fairly sharp, yet, I am still confused.

here is a link if anyone feels they can/will help. Thanks!

Did you actually set either the Product Weight to 10 or the Attribute weight to 10?

If I was doing this, I would set the price in the product data entry page to whatever it is per pound, and then change the Add to cart text to something like "how many lbs required?"

Your customer then simply puts in the number they require and the price will automatically be correct. I think you'll find the Dynamic Price Updater module is perfect for you as I suspect most of your customers will be ordering in excess of 1lb.

If you are going to be charging for shipping by weight, then while you're adding the product info, make sure you add the weight value as 1
