Recurring Billing for Purchases aka Subscription?

Is there a way that someone can purchase something and it will automatically bill them X amount every X amount of days for a recurring shipment of a product? I guess you might call it a subscription of sorts and users could edit theirs from their "My Account" section.

It would of course also need to send both them and I a confirmation email each time the recurring billing happens so then would know a shipment was coming and I would know to ship it off.
