Hello All,
I have images for the categorys in the main page but they list in one long colum,
How do I spread them out like the normal 3 wide and down instead of this one long image over image ?

Did you turn on display categories on main page in admin?
Layout Settings > Categories Always Show on Main Page
If you chose this setting they will show 3 wide.
