Default Weight problem with Royal Mail standard parcel

I've installed the Big Royal Mail module and activated the "Royal Mail Standard Parcels" option.I have the weight values set in kg and in the standard parcels options it says: 1:3.85, ie: 1kg = £3.85
Most of my products are set at 1kg.The problem is that when I do a practice order and choose the standard parcel option for shipping, it says:
    "3 to 5 days. Delivery to United Kingdom : 4.000 kgs £8.24"
Now £8.24 is correct for a product weighing 4kg, but I haven't set this product (or any product!) at 4kg.I'm perplexed as to where it's getting this 4.000kgs figure from, when it should just be 1kg.

    Please help!

    Thanks!

The default settings add 3 'weight units' of weight to all shipment, for packaging weight etc.

hmm, well I won't even ask why they do that.I'm sure there's a completely logical reason
Anyway so exactly how do I sort this out please.

    Thankyou!

I guess 'So you notice it, are aware that it's there, and change it to what you want it to be' is as good a reason as any.

Setting and options are covered here:

The thing is, surely the packaging weight isn't going to add another 3kg.I mean are people packing it in lead casing or something, lol.
Anyway I guess the answer to that is this process is intended for lbs rather than kg.Again another example of non US standards not coming into the design equation. But perhaps I'm being somewhat harsh there, maybe!

Thanks though, sorted now.Really appreciate the help with this matey!
