Manufacturer's List sidebox not working

Hi all

I use Manufacturer info to display my product according to brands. in Admin -> Products, I've added the manufacturer name to the products. but in my website, after clicking the sidebox of manufacturer (i called it brands in my case), it doesn't seem to bring out the correct products, the products are picked and displayed randomly..

I do a search in the forum and didn't notice that anybody else has the same problem as mine. what could be the reason?

I think I've found out the reason, it is the Random product sidebox that is conflict with the manufacturer sidebox. If I off the random product sidebox, then the manufacturer sidebox is working fine... but is it possible to have two of them working in harmony? Both of them are useful to me...

sorry, I found out another symptom. when the random product sidebox and the manufacturer sidebox are both set to on, the manufactuer list funtion is not working only when I have navigate to the product level page, ie on the page where detail product info is displayed. at categories page, they are working fine. is this abnormal or normal?

I can't think of any reason why those 2 would conflict. The random box is based on the what's new box - just randomized among the products instead of among the newest products. Just as the what's new box can't affect the other sideboxes, neither can the random box. What other mods have you put into place? Do you know if the manufacturers box working before you put in the random box?

I have also installed the wordpress on zencart module. I tried to turn on what's new product sidebox, and turn off the random products sidebox, both what's new product and the manufacturers box are working fine. only when random product and manufacturer sidebox are both on, then the manufacturer sidebox is malfuntion when i navigate till the product level. I also cannot figure out why....

if i couldn't find any solution to that, i will have no choice to switc back to what's new sidebox and set the no of products displayed to a much bigger amount..

i only recently thought to utilise the manufacturer box to display as a brand box... so before that whether or not they are working fine.. i'm not too sure

well, I'm sorry but I don't think the random box itself is the problem. I just installed it on a default zen cart and everything is working fine. Can you send me the url or post it here so that I can see what's happening on your site?
