Is Zen Cart right for me?

I'm creating a custom merchandise store such as CafePress or Zazzle where a user picks a product such as a coffee mug and customizes the image/text and was wondering if Zen Cart would fit my needs. My desired usage scenario follows. Is this possible with Zen Cart?

1. The user clicks an AddToCart button in my Flash product customization app.
2. I pass all the merchandise options to Zen Cart via HTTP under the covers.
3. When the user clicks Checkout I send them to Zen Cart to review the items in their shopping cart.
4. They then proceed through the Zen Cart online checkout and shipping screens.

I'm looking for a stripped down interface - no categories/no distractions, but am turning to Zen Cart to leverage the online payment processing and automatic shipping calculator.

Is my usage scenario possible? What customizations do I need? Any resources you could direct me to? Thanks in advance,

PS Will Zen Cart help me automate my shipping needs - such as printing UPS, FedEx, USPS shipping labels and generating tracking numbers?

Zen Cart is not modular where you can just use the parts like add to cart etc. as parts of your site.

It is designed to be your main ecommerce portal/site.
