store developed with ip address, but now domain doesnt show up in address bar

Hi,

I had been developing my store on a server using the ip because the domain name was pointing elsewhere. Until now, so the domain is pointing to my site and that works, but when any links are hit in the store it is looking for the IP address, which works, but i want my domain in the address bar so it doesnt confuse my customers.

I have made changes to the includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php but it is still doing it...

Any help would be marvelous

Maybe it is just a browser cache issue?
Do you have a link to your shop so we can have a look?

I suspect a caching problem as well.
Either that or when you edited your configure.php files and attempted to upload them, you still had them read-only on the server and therefore the upload failed.

I have tried it in various browsers and its still doing it.

The store is at www.studiocare.com/store

Its working ok within the admin and retain the domain name...

Since your links are generating by using the IP address, this means that your configure.php files still contain the IP address.

When you made the changes and attempted to upload them, did you first mark the files "writable" before uploading? (Remember, you had to make them read-only for security reasons ... if you want to update them, you need to turn off the read-only in order to upload, and then make them read-only again when done.)

Im using a windows server so when i was changin permissions they were doing what i was thinking cos of the CHMOD not being used. After changing the permission on the server i was able to get it working.
