Is this possible? Customers "make an offer" on my products?

Hi, Just wondering if it is possible, or maybe simple to write to have a similar function to Ebay in that customers can make an offer on the products.

I beleive this would currently be a great addition to my shops. I could probably code it by using external code and database, but would be great if it was part of the zencart structure.

I do not think that I have see an auction module for Zen Cart but as it is open source you can write one to your liking

Im not really looking for an auction MOD, would just be nice for the customers to be able to haggle a bit, like alot of people do when they go into a shop. If i have an item of £50, it would be good for the customer to be able to offer me £45 and for me to accept or decline his offer.

Just draws the customer into some interaction instead of just looking around.

It can backfire you, a customer may not want to buy any before making an offer (since they are afraid that they may pay more than they should), and even after making an offer they may still think they offered a price higher than they should.

This mod will bring you lots of work (answering customers offers) while not getting anything back at all.

I am only a volunteer contributor here much like you. Mostly deal with styling and css issues and dabble a bit into moving code around. Not up to writing from scratch and especially something that is not widely desired and more something that only you want. If this is a major item for you you can post in the commercial help wanted section.
