Hello All,

I have searched the forums and faq and i'm very suprised I can not find an answer to this question;

I am happy for my customers to browse the site, and create account to purchase stuff, but I do not want the account active until they 'self' activate.

So, how do I get zen-cart to send an activation email to the customer (with some sort of link) to confirm that their email actually exists.

I believe the newsletter subscribe mod in the downloads - other modules sections has such linkback verification. It should be possible to lift the code out of there and use it.

So lift the code and put it were in zen-cart?

Beats the heck out of me too. Essentially, the create account process sends a confirmation email at the end, in essence, a welcome email. The newsletter subscribe mod also sends a welcome email, but including a verification link.

You'd need to establish which extra files were used by the newsletter subscribe mod to accomplish that, and then identify where in the create_account code to insert code to do the same thing.

Off the top of my head I'd say it would be 1 file to edit/insert, a couple to add, probably in /modules and some editing on the newsletter templates.

So has anyone actually done this? And can tell me EXACTLY how to do this? is there a plugin that already does it? etc etc?

Also is it possible to put image verification on login/registration?
